The job nobody wants

Every submission waits on the same paperwork.

Underwriters want five years of claims history. Getting it means a letter for every carrier, a signature from the insured when you're not the broker of record, and weeks of follow-up emails. loss.run does that part.

01 · ask

The right request to the right desk

One question per policy, "are you the broker of record?", decides the path. loss.run writes the letter and sends it to the wholesaler or the carrier's loss-run desk, in the way that carrier actually takes requests.

02 · sign

One signature, on the insured's phone

When the insured has to authorize, they get a text and an email, sign with a finger, and every carrier on the request is contacted the moment they do. No account, no app.

03 · chase

Follow-ups that never forget

Every request has a follow-up schedule. Replies are read and matched to the right request, and only the ones that need you, like a carrier that wants its own form, land on your desk.

What comes back

Not a pile of PDFs. One loss history.

Every carrier formats a loss run differently. loss.run reads each one into the same table: loss date, carrier, description, status, paid and reserved, with the totals and loss ratio worked out. Click any number to see the line in the carrier's document it came from.

renewals

Requested before you remember to

Turn on renewal automation and loss runs are requested ahead of each renewal date, on the same rules as a request you start yourself.

Sealed on InsureBio

Every request, signature and loss run is time-stamped and tamper-evident, and shared only with who the insured chooses.

On the other side of the request

Carriers and MGAs: answer once, automatically.

If you're the one receiving loss-run requests, loss.run lets you answer them from your own claims data. Requests that pass the checks, the agency is agent of record or a signed authorization is attached, are answered on the spot. Everything else is held for a person.

The PolicyOS family

One tool here. A whole bench behind it.

loss.run stands on its own. It is also one of the free PolicyOS tools for independent agencies, so a finished loss run can drop straight into a submission, a proposal and a signed, paid deal.

Questions

The ones agents ask first.

What does it cost?

Loss runs are free for agencies. They're one of the free tools in PolicyOS. Optional extras, like having Jefferson work your inbox, are metered separately and always shown in dollars.

Do I have to switch systems?

No. loss.run works next to your management system. Upload dec pages or type in the prior carriers, and the finished loss history comes back as a file you can put anywhere.

What if I'm not the broker of record?

Then the carrier needs the insured's written authorization. loss.run sends the insured a one-page letter to sign on their phone, naming the carriers, the years and your agency, and nothing goes to a carrier until it's signed. More on the two paths.

Does the carrier have to be on loss.run?

No. loss.run sends to carriers by email, by their website, by fax, or on their own form, whichever that carrier uses. Carriers and MGAs that join can answer instantly from their own data.

Who can see the claims history?

The agency that requested it, and anyone the insured chooses. With the insured's consent a copy is kept in their InsureBio record, so the next agency they authorize doesn't have to wait on carriers again.
